The Leadership in Rural Medicine Program is located in three community campuses at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Each community offers unique aspects of the certificate program and rural medicine experiences. Explore these campuses to find your best fit in the program.
Midland Regional Campus
Rural Community Health Program
Students split their time in Midland between MyMichigan Medical Center Midland and small-town clinics, doctor offices and hospitals in 16 small towns from the Thumb area west to Alma and north to the Straits of Mackinac.
Traverse City Campus
Rural Community Health Program
Students are embedded throughout eight Northern Michigan hospitals operated by Munson Healthcare, and serve patients out in the community through the Traverse City Street Medicine program.
Upper Peninsula Region Campus
Rural Physician Program
Students spend much of their time in the UP Health System hospital in Marquette while also serving at 30 clinics and physicians’ offices in the small towns from Sault Ste. Marie to Ironwood.
